Keller Williams South Watuppa - Cindy Ferry

I was a buyer in a crazy market, just like you!

How I traded my realtor hat for a buyer hat.

March 2022 - relishing in the fact that we were almost unpacked!

About two years ago my husband and I were looking for a new home. The market was crazy and everyone said “why would you look for a home in this market?” The easy answer was - we wanted to. Prices were at a premium (as they still are today) and the big concern was overpaying, knowing that, we still forged on.

Being in this industry for 20 years, finding a home was a feat. We attended countless open houses & showings, We put in offers, had them rejected, hearts broken but we did not give up. We went over asking, waived appraisals, quick closings, nothing short of offering up our first born, nothing seemed to stick. Frustrated was an understatement - I am in this business and was at my wits end. How could I not have known what do expect? I DO THIS FOR A LIVING!! I had to keep reminding myself to practice what I preached to all of my buyers (patience) when they were in the same boat as I was. That being said, we did not give up, we knew our house was out there, we just had not found it yet.

Why did we put ourselves through this? Well, wanted a home but also because we knew we were making a very good INVESTMENT.

Finally out of seemingly nowhere, we happened upon our current home and it was perfect - IT IS PERFECT. More perfect than any of the others that we lost out on. The homes of offers past paled in comparison to this one and the anguish we felt months before dissipated. Did we pay a high price tag in a crazy market? Absolutely. Has our home appreciated in the two years that we have owned it? SUBSTANTIALLY!! We have zero regrets.

House hunting is a grind, but once you find “the one” and get to the closing table you will breathe a sigh of relief that the search is over and you can finally settle.

I will be there to congratulate you!
